You can use some kind of full screen AA, but that's kind of overkill sometimes and can push the requirements pretty high for a "low poly" game, and still have some issues with distant objects since there's no mip levels. You can turn on NEAREST filtering on your textures but then you get noisy aliasing between the pixel edges.

For the love of god, please avoid random noise thrown in.

Don't go from having the mesh to immediately doing detailed textures, because you might realize that the wings on your airplane are too long/short, or that the cockpit needs to be moved.

Do a rough texture to make sure everything looks right and good early on. Start with modeling a simple version of the mesh. A stein half the height of a barrel shouldn't have the same amount of pixels. What pixel density should I go for to not have "too many" What can be my guide if I draw textures outside of 3D software? Should I draw pixel art textures in an image editor or directly on UV inside 3D program? My main question is, what would be the most efficient way of making such low poly objects with pixel art pixel-perfect textures?ĭo I need edge padding at such low resolutions?
